GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will be updated by NVIDIA

NVIDIA has finally released the new generation of GeForce RTX 4000 Ada Lovelace graphics cards, but it still does not forget about the older systems from the previous series. As it turns out, the manufacturer intends to introduce a new version of the popular GeForce RTX 3060 Ti card, which will replace the existing one. Will the change be for the better or worse?

GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in the new version will replace the old model

At the end of last month, information about a new version of the popular graphics card - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - appeared. However, this one has not yet settled enough for NVIDIA's official website to announce that we can buy this model - just like in popular online stores.

GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will be updated by NVIDIA

The latest information, however, indicates that NVIDIA is preparing to replace the old model equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory. The new model, which began to be mentioned at the end of October, is supposed to be slightly better than the introductory variant released in 2020, due to the faster GDDR6X memory. In addition to the bones, this card will come with the addition of X with a much higher clock speed of 19 Gb / s (compared to the basic 14 Gb / s), which is intended to increase throughput.

As reported by MyDrivers, NVIDIA and partners will gradually replace the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB GDDR6 in favor of a faster model with GDDR6X bones. It is worth adding that the price of the new graphics card is the same as in the case of the supposedly recalled model.

This may mean that we will not see cheaper RTX 4000s soon

Replacing the cheaper RTX with a new variant may indicate that we will not see the next generation GeForce RTX 4060 soon. Perhaps this is also a step towards rubbing the nose of the competition, which has cards such as Radeon RX 6750 XT or Intel ARC A770 in a similar price range.

If the new cards appear at unchanged prices, and we, the users, get more performance for the same money, then NVIDIA should be applauded. The decision may also be tantamount to sales of the current version of the RTX 3060 with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, so it is worth following their prices carefully, because there may be an opportunity to buy a system at a nice price.
