In early 2023, Razer will launch the Razer Edge, a portable game machine that uses a Qualcomm processor and Android in the United States. The sales price starts at $399.99, and sales reservations are accepted on the company's product information site.
Overview of the Razer Edge
The Razer Edge is the result of a collaboration between Qualcomm and US carrier Verizon. In addition to the two models of "Razer Edge 5G" that supports mobile communication and "Razer Edge Wi-Fi" that does not support it, "Razer Hammerhead True Wireless (2nd generation)" with wireless earphones "Razer Hammerhead True Wireless (2nd generation)" attached to Razer Edge Wi-Fi Razer Edge Founders Edition" is also available.
The estimated selling price for each is as follows.

- Razer Edge Wi-Fi: $399.99
- Razer Edge Founders Edition: $ 499.99
- Razer Edge 5G: TBD (To be announced at a later date)
There is no difference in the main specifications of the three models, except for the presence or absence of support for mobile communication and the attachment of wireless earphones. The main body is divided into a "tablet part" and a "controller part". Therefore, if you don't need the controller, you can remove it and use it.
The controller part comes with the new "Razer Kishi V2 Pro". As the name suggests, it is a higher version of "Razer Kishi V2" and supports Razer's unique force feedback function "Razer HyperSense".
The processor (SoC) is equipped with Qualcomm's "Snapdragon G3x Gen 1" for the first time as a commercially available device. Since the operating clock of the CPU part reaches a maximum of 3 GHz, the main body is also equipped with an active cooling system. The main memory is 8GB (LPDDR5 standard) and the storage is 128GB (UFS 3.1 standard). It is also possible to install a MicroSD (up to 2TB) as external storage.
The display is a 6.8-inch AMOLED (organic EL), the resolution is full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels), and the maximum refresh rate is 144Hz. The camera is equipped with about 5 million pixels on the in (screen) side, but not on the out (back) side.
It has two speakers (stereo) and two microphones. It also supports THX spatial audio playback. There is no earphone terminal or microphone terminal (* 1), so if you want to output audio externally, you need to prepare a USB audio device or a Bluetooth audio device.
Headphones/earphones with 3.5mm plugs can be connected via the included Razer Kishi V2 Pro
Wireless communication supports Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax standard wireless LAN that also supports 6GHz band communication) and Bluetooth 5.2.
The Razer Edge 5G also supports 5G NR / LTE standard mobile communication and has an eSIM built into the main unit ( it does not have a physical SIM card slot ). It is said that it is optimized for Verizon's network due to the circumstances of its introduction, and 5G NR supports both Sub-6 band and millimeter wave (mmWave) communication.

The OS is pre-installed with Android, but the version is not specified at this time. In addition to Android games distributed on "Google Play", you can also enjoy cloud gaming services available on Android devices such as "Steam Cloud Play" and "Xbox Cloud Gaming". Razer's companion app for game controllers, the Razer Nexus, will also be pre-installed.
