I use Google Maps, of course, I use it, I use it often. Although it is indebted, there may be a function that I have overlooked because I am used to using it as a standard. Google Maps has been updated from time to time, so you can add functions without knowing it. So, I've put together 10 Google Maps settings (Android/iOS apps) that will make your day a little more convenient.

1: How to Set Your Dietary Requirements

You can find restaurants that have menus that suit your dietary preferences, such as vegetarian or gluten-free. Launch the Google Maps app, and go to settings from your icon in the upper right corner. Select "Edit Hobbies/Preferences" from "Nearby Spots" and go to "Food Restrictions". (Currently) Gluten-Free, Kosher Food, Non-alcoholic, Halal, Vegan, Vegetarian Check what suits your taste.
2: Checking the View Area Busyness for a Better Trip

I was able to check the times when congestion was expected for a long time by day of the week, but now I can also check the real-time congestion status. It seems to be useful for weekend meals.
3: How Checking Restaurant Prices Can Save You Money

We can tell you the budget as well as photos, menus, and reviews of restaurants. The price range is participatory by users.
4: How to Use Your Desktop to Get Directions Straight to Your Phone

Google Maps also has the ability to be used across multiple devices. When you search for a route to your destination from a desktop web browser while logged in to your Google account, you can send the route to the smartphone app (Android/iOS) logged in with the same account. Just click "Send to Phone"! It can also be sent by email or text message.
5: Taking the Fuel-Efficient Route: Tips for Your Car and Your Wallet

When you search for a route to your destination, it may present several patterns, but you can find the most environmentally friendly route. Being environmentally friendly here means good fuel efficiency. Select your destination, select "Route" in the lower left, tap the 3 dots in the upper right to select "Route Options", and turn on "Choose a fuel-efficient route".
6: How Sharing Your Journey Can Help Others

7: Tips for Checking Future Travel Times
.webp)
This is convenient when you check the route and required time in advance, not when you leave. Set the destination and tap "Set departure or arrival time" with the three dots in the upper right from "Route" in the lower left. You can set the month, day, and time of departure (arrival), so it is easy to anticipate travel on weekends, evenings, early mornings, etc.
8: Use of Incognito mode

If Google Maps tracks you, it's often convenient because it makes it easier to find places you've visited before or your favorite places. However, there are places that Google doesn't know (and doesn't record) that you want to visit incognito... In such a case, you can solve it by tapping your own icon and "turning on incognito mode".
9: Use Offline map update
.webp)
I wish I had downloaded the map in advance! It happens sometimes. For that reason, it is always a good idea to keep the map up-to-date. "Offline Maps" from the icon, and from the settings in the upper right, turn on "Automatically download recommended maps" and "Automatically update offline maps". Recommended maps are maps of areas that Google thinks should be taken offline based on your current location and past travel patterns.
10: Follow your Favorites

You can follow information about places you care about, such as your favorite shops, areas, neighborhoods you care about, and travel destinations you want to visit someday. Now you won't miss any updated information. You can receive the latest information by adding places you are interested in to "Manage area settings" and "Area of interest" from the settings of the upper right icon.
